4-(Methylsulfonyl)piperidine hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder with a molecular weight of 213.5. It can be used as a chiral stationary phase for chromatography, in the form of its hydrochloride salt. This compound has been used to elute compounds from liquid chromatography and can be used as an analytical standard in HPLC. The compound has been shown to be selective for aromatics, halogenated aromatics, and aliphatic hydrocarbons and is linear over the range from 0.1-10mg/L. 4-(Methylsulfonyl)piperidine hydrochloride is also stable at high temperatures and can be used for control analysis validation due to its stability and low volatility.
