Methyl Nonafluorovalerate is a reactive functional group that can be used in the synthesis of esters. It is also the precursor to perfluorinated compounds. Methyl Nonafluorovalerate has been shown to have anticancer activity. The reactive functional group reacts with plasma glucose and forms an ester, which may contribute to its anticancer properties by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis or depleting glucose supplies for cancer cells.
