Descripción

Fumagillol is a drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to and inhibiting the activity of angiogenesis-related protein kinase (AKT). It has been shown to inhibit tumor metastasis in animal models. Fumagillol also inhibits HIV infection and decreases the incidence of AIDS-related cancers in animals. Fumagillol has anti-angiogenic effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit AKT phosphorylation. Fumagillol is chemically stable and does not show any adverse effects on healthy cells.
