2,2'-Methylenebis(4-methylphenol) is a phenolic compound that is used as a catalyst for the production of polyurethanes. It is often used in conjunction with acid catalysts to produce polyurethane resins. 2,2'-Methylenebis(4-methylphenol) is typically measured by gas chromatography and has been shown to have an extremely high selectivity towards the desired product formation. The reaction mixture consists of 2,2'-methylenebis(4-methylphenol), an acid catalyst, and a reactor. The catalytic activity of 2,2'-methylenebis(4-methylphenol) can be altered by adjusting the flow rate of the reaction mixture in the reactor or by changing the parameters of the reaction (e.g., temperature).
