• Descripción: Methyl-N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate is a copper complex that reacts with nitrogen atoms to form a stable chemical species. It has been shown to have cancer-fighting properties and is used in the treatment of liver cancer. Methyl-N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. The mechanism of action of methyl-N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate is not fully understood, but it has been suggested that this compound binds to p450 enzymes and inhibits their activity. This drug may also inhibit the production of carbon disulphide (CS2) by the liver microsomes and the elimination rate of methyl-N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate from rat livers.
