Descripción:2-Methyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid is an organic compound. It can be prepared by the nitration of 2-methylphenol with a mixture of sulfuric and nitric acids followed by hydrolysis. The chromatographic method for this compound consists in dissolving the crude product in acetone and eluting it with a mixture of benzene and ether. The isolated yield of this compound was 10% from 5g of 2-methylphenol. Acetylsalicylic acid, biphenyl, and amide are solutes in the solvent used for chromatography. Solubility data for this compound is given in plates at various reaction times or vessels. The synthetic pathway for this compound consists in reacting 2-methylphenol with nitric acid to produce 2-methyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid.
