5-Methyl-2-nitrobenzoic acid is a nitro compound that has been shown to have potent cytotoxicity in vivo. 5-Methyl-2-nitrobenzoic acid inhibits the proliferation of cervical cancer cells in vitro, and induces apoptosis. The functional groups present on this molecule are nitro and methyl.
