• Descripción: D-Isovaline is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of peptides. It is used to treat bowel diseases and has been shown to have a protective effect on cell monolayers in the gastrointestinal tract. D-Isovaline has been shown to inhibit alamethicin F50, which are cyclic peptide molecules found in meteorites that are associated with bowel disease. This drug also inhibits glutamate release from nerve cells, suggesting a potential use for treating epilepsy. The preparation of d-isovaline involves an analytical method using sodium salts and preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with laser ablation.
