GI 181771 has a higher affinity for the CB1 receptor than for the CB2 receptor, which means that it has a high binding affinity for the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. GI 181771 also inhibits inflammation in animals by blocking inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. This drug is not yet approved or marketed for use in humans.
