Descripción:4-Nitroguaiacol is a nitro compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by reacting with fatty acids. The mechanism of this reaction is not well understood, but it may be due to the formation of an intermediate nitrite reductase that reduces nitrite to nitric oxide. 4-Nitroguaiacol has been shown to have antioxidative properties and can reduce hydrochloric acid in vitro. This compound also has been used as a clinical study for the treatment of bacterial infections.
