Neoruscogenin is a natural compound that belongs to the group of glycoside derivatives. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and stimulate the production of epidermal growth factor. Neoruscogenin has also been shown to have potent induction effects on inflammatory bowel disease and choroidal neovascularization, which may be due to its ability to inhibit angiogenesis by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression in human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Neoruscogenin also inhibits the proliferation of HL-60 cells, a model organism for studying leukemia and other cancers.
