Naphthalene-2,6-diamine is a fluorescent anion that can be used to measure the viscosity of a solution. It interacts with other molecules through intramolecular hydrogen bonds. This compound fluoresces when irradiated with UV light and can be used as a pH indicator. It is also soluble in water, has a high yield, and is highly acidic. Naphthalene-2,6-diamine can be found as part of the naphthylamines or 4-formyl-3-hydroxybenzoic acid groups of chemicals.
