Naloxegol oxalate is an opioid antagonist that is used to treat opioid-induced constipation. It binds to opioid receptors in the gastrointestinal tract and blocks pain signals that are sent to the brain. It is also used in combination with nintedanib for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). This drug has been shown to be effective in treating IPF, as it reduces the incidence of respiratory infections and ameliorates symptoms. Naloxegol oxalate requires a high dose for its effects on pulmonary fibrosis, which may be due to its lack of affinity for the receptor tyrosine kinases.
