Descripción:7-Nitroindoline is a neurotransmitter that regulates synaptic transmission. It is synthesized by the enzyme nitric oxide synthase and released in response to glutamate. 7-Nitroindoline is generated through the process of irradiation with a diode laser and hexadecanone as a non-saturating concentration. The photolabile nature of 7-nitroindoline allows it to be used in kinetic studies as well as photolytic reactions. This compound has been shown to have an organic ligand that binds to the synaptic membrane, which may explain its role in regulating synaptic transmission.
