It inhibits the production of chlorophyll and reduces photosynthetic activity in plants, thereby causing a decrease in chlorophyll content. 1-Naphthaleneacetamide has been shown to have genotoxic effects on human cells in tissue culture. This agent also has an effect on DNA damage and repair and can be used as an analytical method for determining the presence of surfactant sodium dodecyl (SDS) in urine samples by fluorescence spectrometry.
