(4-Nitrophenyl)boronic acid pinacolester is a nitro pharmaceutical agent that can be used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It has been shown to have high concentrations in the brain and can be used to diagnose Alzheimer's disease. This drug also has photophysical properties that allow it to be used as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). (4-Nitrophenyl)boronic acid pinacolester has been shown to inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells, specifically MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. It has also been shown to have anti-cancer effects on cachectic mice with induced lung cancer.
