1-Norbornanecarboxylic acid is a simple aliphatic hydrocarbon that can be found in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. It is a non-polar compound that has been used to study the effect of thermal expansion on microorganisms. 1-Norbornanecarboxylic acid has also been used as a substrate for recombinant cells and ester compounds.
