N,N-Dimethylformamide diisopropyl acetal is a molecule that belongs to the group of pharmaceutical preparations. It is used as a solvent in pharmaceutical and chemical syntheses. This product has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to the inhibition of histamine release from mast cells. N,N-Dimethylformamide diisopropyl acetal has also been found to be an inhibitor of the COX and LOX pathways, which are responsible for inflammation in the bowel. It has also been shown that this compound can prevent colon cancer by inhibiting the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines.
