Descripción:Napsagatran is a human, activated, orally bioavailable, small molecule that acts as an oral thromboplastin inhibitor. It is metabolized by esterases to form the active drug napsagatran etexilate. Napsagatran inhibits the activity of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) and has been shown to be effective in clinical studies. The pharmacokinetic properties of napsagatran have been characterized in humans using a pharmacokinetic study design with a two-way crossover design. A kinetic study was carried out using flow system analysis to determine the time course of plasma concentrations following administration of napsagatran etexilate.
