Nitrocycline has been found to bind with high affinity to antibodies against tumor-associated antigens and can be used for diagnostic purposes. It also works as a chemotherapeutic agent against certain viruses such as human papillomavirus, herpes simplex virus, Epstein-Barr virus, and varicella zoster virus.
