Descripción:N-Nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) is a genotoxic carcinogen that is formed as an intermediate in the industrial production of nitric acid. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of DNA polymerase and topoisomerase II, which are involved in DNA replication and repair. NDEA has been detected in human blood samples and has been shown to induce squamous cell carcinoma in animal models. This chemical can also cause inflammation by binding to toll-like receptor 4, which activates the inflammatory response. The biocompatible polymer used for this product is not known to produce any genotoxic or mutagenic effects.
