Descripción:Nomegestrol acetate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that binds to cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases and inhibits their activity. This prevents the breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which are second messengers in the cell that regulate many physiological processes. Nomegestrol acetate has been shown to inhibit ovarian activity, suppress ovulation, and decrease the production of progesterone. It also acts as a contraceptive by preventing implantation of the fertilized egg into the uterus.
