The reaction of 2-naphthalenyl hydrazine hydrochloride with ammonium salt produces an imine, which reacts with methylbenzene to form indocyanine. This process yields hydrochloric acid and oxychloride, which can be converted into sodium chloride by heating in the presence of water.
