• Descripción: (S)-(-)-N-Methyl-1-phenylethylamine is a chiral, stereogenic, and functional molecule. It can be synthesized from the reaction of phenylmagnesium bromide with methyliodide and ammonia in an ether solution. The (S)-(-)-N-Methyl-1-phenylethylamine has been used as a ligand in coordination complexes to form a number of different synthetic complexes. This compound has also been used as a model for natural products and amines. The (S)-(-)-N-Methyl-1-phenylethylamine displays its functional properties through the parameters of theory and nmr spectra. It is also stable at temperatures higher than 150 °C.
