Nonafluorohexene is a reactive gas that is used in the clinical pathology laboratory. It is used as a cross-linking agent to improve the substrate film, which helps with energy efficiency. The microns of nonafluorohexene are measured in particle size, and it can be obtained through hydrogen fluoride, sodium carbonate, or chloride reactions. Nonafluorohexene has been shown to be an excellent radiation-curable material due to its cationic surfactant properties. This may be due to its ability to absorb water vapor and its high reactivity towards radiation.
