Naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic Dianhydride (NTD) is an organic molecule that is used in polyimide synthesis. It is a white solid that is purified by sublimation. The NTD molecule has nitrogen atoms and methyl ethyl groups. This compound can be used for wastewater treatment and as a model system for thermal expansion. The temperature of the sample is increased to about 300°C and the pressure remains constant. Kinetic data can be obtained from the rate of change in volume of the sample.
