Descripción:2-Nitro-p-xylylene glycol is a benzyl ether that is used in the transesterification of polymers and devices. It has a chemical composition of C6H4NO2 and a structure that includes two nitro groups. 2-Nitro-p-xylylene glycol can be photoactive, photocleavable, and soluble in water. It has been shown to be functionalized with silicon, which is used for microelectronic applications. The wavelength of irradiation needed for photocleavage varies depending on the functionalization of the compound; however, it can range from UV to visible light. The exposure levels required for photochemical cleavage are determined by the type of functionalization present on the compound; however, it can range from as low as 10 J/cm2 to as high as 1 kJ/cm2.
