It is considered a chemical indicator for naphthalene exposure, as it can be detected in urine and blood samples. 1,5-Naphthalenediol is a heterocyclic organic compound that has been shown to have potential medical uses. It has been shown to function as an anti-inflammatory agent by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and can also inhibit the growth of keratinocytes.
