PX 2 is an anticancer drug that belongs to the class of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitors. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by inhibiting CDKs, which are important regulators of cell division and growth. PX 2 has been tested in Chinese hamster ovary cells and has demonstrated potent antitumor activity against a variety of human tumor cell lines. This drug is an analog of roscovitine, which was originally isolated from urine and identified as a potent CDK inhibitor. PX 2 is a promising candidate for the treatment of cancer due to its ability to selectively target cancer cells while sparing normal cells.
