Descripción

3-(2-Oxocyclohexyl)propanenitrile is an acrylonitrile derivative that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to be a good alkylating agent and can be used for the synthesis of chlorides, isomeric peroxides, trioxanes, and amines. 3-(2-Oxocyclohexyl)propanenitrile also catalyses the reaction between mercaptoacetic acid and chloride to produce alkyl chlorides. This compound has a high boiling point that allows it to be used at higher temperatures than other acrylonitriles. It is also able to undergo tautomerization reactions with its amino group, which allow it to act as an intermediate in the formation of various organic compounds.
