ONO-4059 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) with potential as a therapeutic agent in lymphoproliferative disorders. ONO-4059 has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of T cells, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis. In addition, ONO-4059 has been shown to upregulate genes associated with apoptosis and downregulate genes associated with cell proliferation. This drug has also been shown to have a potent inhibitory activity on EGFR kinase, which may be an important feature for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
