- Suberohydroxamic Acid = Suberol Bis-Hydroxymic Acid
- Octane-1,8-dihydroxamic acid (ODHA)
- N,N'-dihydroxyoctanediamide

Octane-1,8-dihydroxamic acid (ODHA) is a compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cultured cells. It is potent inducer of apoptosis in certain cell types, such as T-cells and lymphoma cells. ODHA inhibits the methyltransferase activity of DNA methyltransferases and prevents transfer of methyl groups to DNA, which may be responsible for its ability to inhibit tumor growth. ODHA also inhibits the polymerase chain reaction, which may be due to its inhibition of histone acetylation.
