Descripción:OSI-420 is an antibody that selectively binds to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It is a monoclonal antibody, which is a protein produced by the immune system in response to a specific antigen. The binding of OSI-420 to the EGFR causes the receptor to become inactive, preventing it from signaling for cell proliferation. OSI-420 has been shown to be effective against malignant brain tumors and may be used as a diagnostic aid. This drug also has therapeutic potential for diabetic patients, as it has been shown to reduce blood glucose levels when administered with insulin.
