Descripción

Oxamniquine is an anthelmintic drug that kills parasitic worms. It is a quinoline derivative that is stable in acidic environments and resistant to degradation by intestinal enzymes. Oxamniquine has been shown to be effective against infections caused by many species of helminths, including Schistosoma mansoni, Trichuris trichiura, and Ascaris lumbricoides. Treatment with oxamniquine has also been shown to have beneficial effects on the immune system, as it stimulates antibody production in the human body and enhances the response of T cells to foreign antigens. In addition, oxamniquine has been shown to be effective in treating autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
