L-Ornithine 2-oxoglutarate (1:1) is a polymerase chain reaction substrate that is used in the treatment of urinary infections. Ornithine, which can be synthesized by the body from glutamate, is an important factor for the synthesis of polyamines. L-Ornithine 2-oxoglutarate (1:1) also inhibits bacterial growth and has been shown to inhibit bacterial translocation. This product may be useful as a dietary supplement in metabolic disorders or congestive heart failure.
