Descripción:4,4'-Oxydiphenol is an organic compound that contains a phenolic hydroxyl group. The molecule is activated by the presence of an electron withdrawing group such as a carbonyl or sulfonate. This activation allows for nucleophilic attack on the carbon-carbon double bond to form a new bond. 4,4'-Oxydiphenol can also be synthesized from ethane and epichlorohydrin in the presence of a base such as sodium methoxide. The resulting product is a polyester with resistive properties due to its high molecular weight and low solubility.
