Orobol is a reference material for analytical purposes. It is one of the most potent natural compounds that have been shown to have significant bioactivity in vitro and in vivo. Orobol is a secondary metabolite found in plants and has also been isolated from the roots of the medicinal plant, Curcuma longa. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of DNA topoisomerase II, which may lead to an increased risk of cancer. Orobol has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and inhibit cell proliferation and tumor growth.
