Octafluoro-5,5-bis-(trifluoromethyl)cyclopentane (OTFC) is an organic compound that has the formula CF2CF3. OTFC is a volatile liquid with a boiling point of -1.8°C, and can be found in the environment due to its use as a solvent. OTFC is used in the production of amines and vinyl ethers. OTFC can be synthesized by reacting benzotrifluoride with toluene or vinyl ether. The inorganic nature and efficiency of this chemical make it useful for many applications.
