5-(1H-Pyrrol-1-yl)-2-mercaptobenzimidazole is an organic compound with a molecular formula of CHNOS. It is synthesized from ilaprazole sodium and hydroxide. 5-(1H-Pyrrol-1-yl)-2-mercaptobenzimidazole is used as the sodium salt in the synthesis of various drugs. The ilaprazole sodium is added to a solution of hydroxide and heated for about three hours to yield 5-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-2 mercaptobenzimidazole. The synthesizing process requires deionized water and deionized solvents, which are environmentally friendly technologies.
