It is used to treat cancer, pain, and other conditions in which inflammation or growth factors are implicated. PF-04457845 has been shown to be an effective treatment for chronic pain and cancer-related symptoms in animal models. This drug has pharmacological properties that inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines and nitric oxide synthase, which are important in the development of cancer. The pharmacokinetics of PF-04457845 have also been studied in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging studies with [11C]PF-04457845.
