Descripción:Pyr-Gln-OH is an intermediate in the synthesis of didemnin, a molecule that has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth. Pyr-Gln-OH is also involved in the production of histamine, which is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in many bodily functions. Pyr-Gln-OH may be used as a diagnostic agent for bladder cancer. Excretion of this molecule was found to be increased in patients with bladder cancer and decreased in those without the disease. Biochemical profiling revealed that Pyr-Gln-OH is elevated in patients with bladder cancer and lower levels are found in healthy individuals.
