3-Pyrrolidin-1-ylpropan-1-amine is a covalent inhibitor that binds to the β-amino acid lysine residues in proteins. It inhibits protein synthesis by preventing the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids, which are required for protein synthesis. 3-Pyrrolidin-1-ylpropan-1-amine has shown effectiveness against cancer cells and is currently being used as a drug to treat cancer. The molecule is able to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by interfering with their metabolism, which prevents them from replicating and accumulating. This drug also has an effect on human liver tissue, specifically fatty acid metabolism, as it can inhibit amine oxidases.
