Pyrrolidin-3-amine dihydrochloride is a food additive that has been approved for use in meat products, dairy products, and baked goods. Pyrrolidin-3-amine dihydrochloride inhibits the activity of histamine H2 receptors. It is used as an antimicrobial agent against bacteria and fungi in foods. Pyrrolidin-3-amine dihydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumours in xenograft models. This effect may be due to its ability to inhibit chemokine synthesis.
