• Descripción: 2-(Propylthio)benzoic acid (2-PTBA) is a chemical compound that has been shown to have antitumor activity. It is a derivative of benzene and the thiophene ring. 2-PTBA inhibits the growth of tumor cells by disrupting cell cycle progression and inducing apoptosis. It also disrupts the bcl-2 family, which are proteins that inhibit apoptosis. 2-PTBA has been shown to be more efficacious than cisplatin in mouse mammary carcinoma models, with less side effects such as kidney damage or bone marrow suppression.
