Descripción

2-Phenyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carbaldehyde is an inhibitor of the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in a hydrochloric acid solution. 2-Phenyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carbaldehyde inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the DNA gyrase enzyme and inhibiting its function. This compound also has potentiodynamic polarization and transfer properties that are dependent on pH. The inhibition efficiency of 2-phenyl imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine 3 carbaldehyde was found to be 0.5% for one minute at a concentration of 100 mM in a hydrochloric acid solution.
