N3-PEG36-OMe is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have fluorescence quantum yields of up to 0.5% with a maximum emission wavelength of 590 nm. It also has high solubility in water and is bioconjugatable, making it an ideal fluorophore for use in biological applications. N3-PEG36-OMe can be synthesized by the Suzuki coupling reaction between 3,6-dihydroxypyridin-2(1H)-one and 1,2-bis(N′-(3′,6′-dimethylphenyl)ethylene)ethane (N3), which is then reacted with methoxy PEG 36 monomethyl ether (mPEG). This process yields a bright green fluorescent product.
