3-Propylpyridine is a chloride organometallic compound that has been shown to catalyze biotransformations of piperidine. 3-Propylpyridine has also been found to stereoselectively react with prochiral carbonyl compounds in the presence of an electron-withdrawing group to produce a mixture of regioisomers, as determined by molecular docking analysis. This compound was evaluated for its ability to inhibit tumor growth and proliferation of human cervical cancer cells (HeLa) in vitro. 3-Propylpyridine was found to be more potent than other compounds due to its ability to bind tightly with the active site on HeLa cells.
