3-Piperidin-4-yl-benzo[d]isoxazole is a molecule that is structurally related to an atypical antipsychotic agent. It is structurally similar to the fluoroquinolones, but has a different pharmacological profile. The optimization of this molecule has led to its use as an antipsychotic drug. 3-Piperidin-4-yl-benzo[d]isoxazole binds to 5HT2A receptors and inhibits the synthesis of dopamine in the brain, which leads to its effects on hyperlocomotion and other symptoms.
