It also has the ability to absorb UV radiation from sunlight and protect the photoreceptor layer of the eye from damage. Phenol, isobutylenated, phosphate(3:1) has a viscosity index that is 16 times higher than that of petroleum ethers. The phenolic nature of this compound makes it an excellent anti-wear additive for automotive engines and other heavy machinery.
