It is an oxygenation agent that can be used as a substitute for chlorine in organic synthesis. This agent can be synthesized by the reaction of methylamine and chloroacetyl chloride. 5-Pyrimidinecarboxylic acid,4-(4-fluorophenyl)-6-(1-methylethyl)-2-[methyl(methylsulfonyl)amino]-,methylester has been shown to inhibit rosuvastatin synthesis in vitro and may have potential as a cholesterol lowering drug.
